About the Chihuahua

Chihuahuas prove that personality has absolutely nothing to do with size. They're tiny dogs with enormous opinions, and many form incredibly strong bonds with their favourite person. Their small size makes them convenient for smaller homes, and they don't require the same amount of physical exercise as a large, athletic breed. But don't mistake small for effortless. Chihuahuas can be alert, vocal, stubborn and surprisingly confident, and good socialisation matters enormously. They can make devoted companions for someone who enjoys having a little dog with a big character. They often like being close to their people and can be very entertaining once you understand their particular way of doing things. Because they're physically tiny, they're not always the best match for very young children who may accidentally play too roughly. For the right household, though, a Chihuahua can be an affectionate, portable little companion with plenty of personality packed into a very small body.
