About the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Cavaliers are quintessential people dogs. Their great talent is making themselves part of your life: following you from room to room, curling up beside you and generally wanting to know what everyone else is doing. They're affectionate without necessarily demanding the sort of intense exercise that comes with a working breed. They still enjoy proper walks and play, but they're also perfectly capable of appreciating a quiet afternoon at home. That adaptability is one reason they can suit a wide range of households. They're generally bright and willing to learn, and their gentle nature can make training enjoyable when it's approached positively. Their beautiful coat does require regular care, so they're not quite as low-maintenance as their sweet expression might suggest. A Cavalier could be a particularly good match if companionship is high on your list. They tend to fit naturally into family life and can be comfortable around children and other animals when properly socialised.
