About the Boxer

Boxers are a brilliant combination of goofy, affectionate and protective. They can look imposing, but inside many Boxers are enormous puppies who want to play, cuddle and be involved in everything their family is doing. They have plenty of energy, so they're best suited to households that can give them proper daily exercise and interaction. They can be playful and exuberant well into adulthood, which is wonderful if you enjoy a lively dog but less ideal if you're hoping for a permanently serene household. They're intelligent and can respond very well to positive training, although their enthusiasm can occasionally get in the way of their concentration. Patience and consistency are your friends. Their short coat is relatively easy to maintain, which is a nice contrast to their otherwise high-energy lifestyle. If you're looking for a larger dog with a huge personality, lots of affection and a natural instinct to be involved with its family, the Boxer is an appealing option.
